Summer Internship 2013

On 27 May-26 July 2013, I had an internship in PT.HM. Sampoerna Tbk.It is a cigarettes company in Indonesia that is an affiliate of Philip Morris International. I worked in Information System and specifically assisted Security Control and Finance team. This is my first internship and also my first job. It was interested and challenging for me to work in IT department which deal with software that I never knew before, such as SAP and SNow. However, by the help of my supervisors who trained me patiently, I gained knowledge and skill. In the end of the internship, I have to present in front of them and a manager to perform what I have learned during two months. I felt so blessed that I got positive response and a souvenir from the officers. I loved to have an internship, because I could prepare myself for my future job and broaden my network. Something that needs to be underlined is that I am an industrial engineer, but I was an intern in IT department. In a future, sometimes a job that you’ll get is not always suitable with your major, so just be prepared and never limit yourself to learn as much as you can.

Summer Break with Friends

A few days after my final and before leaving Morgantown. I moved to a new apartment, so I needed to move my stuffs. My friend, Erin, helped me to move out. She is one of my bestie during my first year of college. Unfortunately, she will transfer and go back to ohio next fall 2013, but we really had a good time during a year. “Just got back home after a three hour adventure that involved getting lost, going down a one way street the wrong way...twice, a unexpected shower that left all of us drenched, and helping Rizky and her roomate move thier stuff up three flights of stairs. All making a fun day that I enjoyed. — with Rizky Nur Zairina.” (facebook) After the move out day, I also spent my time with my another bestie, Caroline. We went to Coopers Rock (an amazing green view of mountains in Morgantown). I visited her house and a lake. We had a bonfire, cooked for dinner with her family and her brother teached me a gun shooting. It was a good day and I enjoyed it a lot.
This summer break, I had another surprise; I could go home because my friends and I have internship in Indonesia, though we will be placed in some different cities. I will intern for PT. HM. Sampoerna Tbk (an affiliate of Philip Morris International) in information system division. I curious about it, since it’s my first time to have a job. I am also excited to meet my family, friends, relatives, teachers and colleagues. Just a while ago, I met my friends from texas and my english teacher. We were reunion in Doha International Airport. What a lovely moment!

Spring 2013 Semester End

The semester runs really fast. I took some courses such as Calculus 2, Matlab, english, chemistry, and world religion. Most of those courses are prerequisites in my first year of college. If people ask, how much I learn from those courses, I always say; a lot. I tried to do my best on every courses that I took. The most exciting one is world religion, it was the only general course that I took for Spring semester. I learn all four major religions based on religious facts ; in order not to become argumentative. However, it was interesting and help me to appreciate the difference between people in the world. I felt lucky that I could get to know many of my professors very well. Another good thing was happened in the end of this semester that I could raise my GPA. I am very blessed and thankful to God. During the semester, I did not only expand my academic skill, but I also learned to be active in an organization. I was elected as a membership chair of Society of Women Engineers in my campus for my sophomore year.I am the only international student among other officers. That is interesting and challenging. However, I want to balance my skill and learn a new experience from my friends in another country. I also like to do some activities that the organization’s has, such as social, volunteer, outreach and professional development. Last time, I was volunteering as a tour guide in a girl scout day. It was my first time to assist parents and their children. I loved it and they gave me positive response too.

Christmas and New Year

In this winter break holiday i spend it in New York City. It's really a city that never sleep like what i've figured out in the Empire state of mind song. To celebrate Christmas and New Year , I spent it with my new relatives. It's nice to know them. I think doing community service while having a holiday is a good idea.Besides, seeing the lights of Manhattan is just too marvelous. It's all beautiful. Anyway, Happy New Year 2013 for everybody. Let's make resolutions !

Thanksgiving Break

On thanksgiving break 2012, i had one day trip to Washington DC with my friends. It took like 4 hours by bus. It was one day fun visited Smithsonian Museum,Lincoln Memorial,Air and Space Museum,White House etc. There are still many museums in DC that we couldn't visit each.

New Zealand

In 2010 i was selected as the representative from Sampoerna Academy Malang to study visit in a college in New Zealand. I went there with my friend ,Naasa. Before going, we were invited to come to NZ ambassador's house in Jakarta.During my day in NZ, I stayed with an Egyptian family and studied for about a month in Onslow College. I learned their cultures and education,so that when i got home,i could tell people what i've got.

Eagle House

In Sampoerna Academy , I have a small family called a house, just imagine it's like gryffindor, slytherine or any kind of these in Harry Potter. We had student advisor called Umi Rofi who's really patient to take care of us. Eagle house in my year definitely was so solid but sometimes we just too crunchy to make a joke so that nobody laughs. However they are just too good to be remembered with all of their silliness and characteristics. I love you guys ! and Thanks Umi ! " House Eagle jadi hospital,ya nggak bisa, eagle kan is the best, eagle kan bisa terbang!" :D

Sampoerna Academy

This is my second family, Sampoerna Academy. When i was in high school i got scholarship by studying in SMAN 10 Malang Sampoerna Academy. I have wonderful and amazing friends, teachers and stuff . Being the part of Sampoerna Academy Family is a blessing. I could get better education. I learned not only academic but also non-academic.Leadership,learning to live, skill, giving back to community were some of the things that i learned there. and I hope for the future I can be a leader who make a better change for my generation. "Leader ! I am. Sampoerna Academy! Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow."

IJSO

In 2008, I joined International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO). It was a competition in the junior high level and I was selected as the representative from East Java. I met other 39 students from all over Indonesia. We got training by ITB in Bandung for a month. Exactly we learnt science but we also have fun in a time by visiting ‘Dago,Goa Jepang & Belanda’. I had such a grateful feeling to be there among the intelligence people. Now we spread in some parts all over the world, some of us are studying in Indonesia,Singapore, and US. I feel lucky to know them and thank God I could meet and learn from those great people.
